  • Job Title: Staffing & Bench manager Location: Bangalore Employment Type: Full-time Department: Resource Management Reports To: Lead - Staffing (B2) ________________________________________ About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staffing Bench manager to join our IT consulting team. As a key member of our talent operations, you will play a pivotal role in aligning business needs with talent resources, ensuring the right consultants are matched to the right projects at the right time. You will collaborate with delivery managers, project leads, and recruiters to ensure optimal resource utilization across our client engagements. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Partner closely with delivery teams and account managers to understand project staffing requirements. • Source, identify, and allocate appropriate technical consultants (internal bench or external hires) for ongoing and upcoming projects. • Proactively manage bench resources, keeping utilization rates high through continuous pipeline forecasting and skillset mapping. • Maintain real-time visibility into consultant availability, skillsets, certifications, and project timelines using resource management tools (e.g., SAP Fieldglass, Workday, MS Project, or custom systems). • Collaborate with recruitment teams to fill gaps in talent supply and ensure fast turnaround on project staffing. • Lead staffing meetings with stakeholders to review project pipeline, consultant availability, and potential risks. • Act as a point of contact for consultants regarding project assignments, transitions, and career growth paths. • Ensure compliance with client requirements, including background checks, documentation, and onboarding timelines. • Prepare staffing reports and analytics to support decision-making and forecast resource needs. ________________________________________ Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, IT, or a related field. • 7–12 years of experience in staffing, resource management, bench management in an IT consulting or professional services environment. • Strong understanding of IT roles and skills (e.g., software development, cloud, data, cybersecurity, DevOps). • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Proficiency in staffing/resource management systems and Excel; experience with ATS/CRM tools is a plus. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-driven environment with shifting priorities. • Manage Bench Resources: Maintain up-to-date visibility of all bench consultants, including their skills, certifications, availability, and preferences. • Utilization Optimization: Work with delivery leaders and sales teams to proactively deploy bench resources onto client projects or internal initiatives. • Skill Mapping and training : Regularly assess and categorize consultant skillsets, aligning them with current and upcoming project requirements with suitable training. • Pipeline Forecasting: Partner with sales, pre-sales, and staffing teams to forecast future project demands and ensure bench readiness. • Internal Mobility: Promote internal talent mobility by facilitating cross-functional opportunities for consultants based on their capabilities and interests. • Onboarding & Readiness: Ensure bench consultants are project-ready through necessary training, certifications, and knowledge sessions. • Engagement & Retention: Keep bench employees engaged through regular communication, updates, and career development discussions. • Collaboration: Work closely with recruitment to fill open positions when internal bench resources are unavailable. • Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on bench strength, utilization, time-to-bill, and other key staffing metrics. ________________________________________ Nice to Have: • Familiarity with onshore/offshore staffing models. • Experience working in a matrixed organization. • Background in agile or project-based delivery models.
